Old Bridge, NJ –  Jan. 24, 2019 – The Old Bridge Public Library will welcome “Ragtime” Jack Radcliffe to perform as part of its Second Saturday Concert Series on Sat. Feb. 9th at 2:30pm.

Radcliffe has been performing for more than 40 years and is considered a master of traditional country blues, ragtime and stride piano, as well as songs from the Great American songbook. He’s been called “The Mark Twain of traditional American music,” and his repertoire covers the spectrum from Appalachia to Broadway, and from Vaudeville to New Orleans.  He accompanies himself on the guitar, banjo and fiddle and his performances include uplifting wit, historical anecdotes and connections with local lore.  Radcliffe was a fixture on the coffeehouse circuit in the late 1960s and ’70s and has recorded six CDs. In 2003, he founded Massachusetts-based Wepecket Island Records, a label devoted to preserving the traditional music of America, and continues to serve as its president and executive producer. He currently tours nationally, records his own music, and produces other artists’ recordings. Radcliffe was inducted into the Old-Time Music Hall of Fame in 2014.

The concert is being generously co-sponsored by the Friends of the Old Bridge Library and by Gary Matoren, in memory of his daughter, Debbie Lynn Matoren. Attendees are requested to bring a non-perishable, unexpired donation for the Old Bridge Food Bank to this free event.
