The tools in the Idea Farm are available as part of regular occurring programs and also for independent use. In order to be certified for independent use, library patrons must take an initial Idea Farm Safety Certification class and complete the required exam. They must then complete an introduction class specific to the piece of equipment that they wish to use.

Sewing Machines

The Old Bridge Public Library has six sewing machines available for use in programs and for independent use. Four of the machines are Singer Patchwork models and two are Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 machines. While some materials may be available as part of library programs, users should bring their own supplies for independent use.
Cricut: Vinyl and Paper Cutter
The Old Bridge Public Library Idea Farm has two Cricut machines – a Cricut Maker 3 and a Cricut Maker 4. These machines are used for cutting different materials like paper and vinyl according to designs programmed on the Idea Farm laptop. They can be used as part of some Idea Farm programs and also reserved for independent use. Although the library can provide a small amount of paper to begin, Idea Farm users should bring their own supplies to ensure they can complete their projects.

3D Printer: Bambu X1C

The Old Bridge Public Library Idea Farm has a Bambu X1C with a 4-spool AMS. While it is capable of printing with a number of materials, we primarily stock PLU in a variety of colors.
In addition to the Initial Idea Farm Safety Certification, there is a separate 3D Printer Certification to use this piece of equipment. Once passed, come to the tech help desk. There’s a laptop pre-configured with all the software you’ll need to get started 3D printing.
