Old Bridge, NJ – January 2, 2018 – The Old Bridge Public Library is offering the following new technology classes, appealing to patrons interested in expanding their basic computer knowledge:
Buying Stuff Online: Thursday, Jan. 11th @11am: Online shopping is a convenient way to buy almost anything from the comfort of your home. This class will explain the risks involved with shopping online, and will provide tips on the many ways to protect yourself and your financial information.
Mail Merge Class: Tuesday, Jan. 16th @7pm: This session will explore Mail Merge, a useful tool for producing multiple letters, labels, envelopes and name tags using information stored in a list, database, or spreadsheet. Students will learn the basics and practice with the latest versions of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Intro to Typing: Tuesday, Jan. 23rd @7pm: Computers are now used for everyday tasks, and typing with a keyboard is essential. This tutorial will teach the basics of touch typing, and will allow students to practice useful skills. Registration is required to ensure sufficient supply of computers for all attendees. Facebook for Small Business: Sunday, Jan. 28th @1pm: This class will explore the possibilities of connecting directly with customers and presenting products and services online. It will demonstrate how social media can help to expand presence beyond a company website, allowing businesses to reach out and target their market in efficient, useful ways.
Do More with Google: Wednesday, Jan. 31st @11am: Learn how to utilize Google for more than just searching. This class will examine how to edit photos, share videos, be social, plan a trip, and write resumes–or a novel–with tools that Google provides for free.
