Old Bridge, NJ –  Nov. 22, 2019 – Recognizing how busy and stressful the holiday season can be for many, the Old Bridge Public Library will host a “Stress Less” program series during December. The following sessions are free and open to the public:

Drop-in Puzzles and Coloring: Tues. Dec. 3rd, Wed. Dec. 18th and Mon. Dec. 23rd from 11-3pm. The Library will supply coloring materials and various jigsaw puzzles for patrons to work on. Bring a friend or two and enjoy each other’s company, or come solo for some quiet time. Tea and light refreshments will be served.

Reiki and Natural Healing: Tues. Dec. 10th @11am. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us. During this session, a Reiki Master will explain how if one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Registration is required.

Mindfulness Meditation: Wed. Dec. 11th @2pm. Angela L. Kurzyna, a health psychologist at Hackensack Meridian Integrative Health and Medicine, will lead this program, guiding attendees on meditation approaches and demonstrating how living in the moment has a calming effect on the body. Registration is required.

“These sessions will allow you to take time for yourself, and enjoy relaxing activities to help

de-stress and unwind,” noted Library Director Mike Bobish. “We hope many will benefit from them, and in turn, enjoy the holidays even more.”

Registration can be done by calling 732-721-5600 x5033 or online at www.oldbridgelibrary.org.
