Old Bridge, NJ – Nov. 18, 2019 – The Board of Trustees of the Old Bridge Public Library is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Bobish as Library Director.
Bobish, a New Jersey native, joins the Library from the well-respected Multnomah County Library in Portland, OR, where he first served as a Supervisor and then as a Regional Manager. Before moving to the Pacific Northwest, he worked at the Ocean County Library for almost a decade in various roles, including Chief of Administration. He earned his BA from Susquehanna University and his MLS from Rutgers University. He is an active member of the Public Library Association and the American Library Association.
“Michael comes to us after an exhaustive nationwide search, and we are confident he has the experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to lead the Old Bridge Public Library and maintain its reputation as one of the state’s outstanding libraries,” noted Library Board President Frank Weber. “We welcome him warmly and are excited about the new prospective that he will bring.”
“It is already apparent to me that members of this community truly champion their Library, and I am thrilled to become a part of the great work our staff and volunteers do for our residents and supporters,” Bobish said. “My goal is to ensure that the Library continues to serve the vibrant, diverse Old Bridge population with appropriate resources and services, further strengthening its position as an essential community center.”
The Old Bridge Public Library has consistently been voted one of the three Best Public Libraries in Middlesex County by the readers of the Home News Tribune.
