Old Bridge, NJ – May 14, 2019 – The Old Bridge Public Library will host the following upcoming visits from local authors. All programs are free and open to the public.
“Hear” I Am!!: Deaf Culture and Disability Awareness: Fri. May 31st @7pm. Jennifer Beilis, the author of the inspiring book “Hear” I Am!! will explore self-help, goal setting, education, employment, mental health and disabilities. Her graduate school thesis proved that individuals with disabilities can readily attend school or work with adaptive devices. Her findings are applicable to all walks of life, demonstrating how to learn to explore using introspective questions. Beilis earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rowan University and a Master’s degree in Education and Deafness Rehabilitation, SCPI (Sign Language Proficiency Interview) from New York University. Copies of her book will be available for purchase and signing following the session.
Retro Roadmap with Mod Betty: Sat., June 1 @2pm. This program will explore the many vintage treasures that the Garden State has to offer. Author and blogger Beth Lennon, AKA Mod Betty, shares where to find NJ’s best retro movie theaters, restaurants and other nostalgic roadside attractions. Her series of Retro Roadmap Travel Guides serve as a checklist of places to visit for unique vintage architecture and experiences. Her fourth book, Retro Roadmap Roadbook of South Jersey, was published this past February. Copies of her books will be available for purchase and signing following the event.
