Old Bridge, NJ – July 30, 2019 – The Old Bridge Public Library will welcome husband-wife musical duo Francine Evans and Joel Zelnik for a concert remembering Judy Garland and The Wizard of Oz on Sat. August 10th at 2:30pm.
Evans and Zelnik will perform a tribute to the legendary Judy Garland which will feature songs from Judy’s concert years, as well as from “The Wizard of Oz ”— which is celebrating its 80th anniversary —and selections from the Broadway musical “The Wiz.”
Zelnik has served as a bandleader and jazz pianist for 40 years, has entertained five US Presidents, and performed at concert venues in New York, Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Japan and Greece. He has recorded four CDs and holds an MAT in Music from Rutgers University. Evans is a singer, pianist, guitarist, songwriter and theatrical producer. She has performed with her big band in most major hotel ballrooms in NYC and has appeared in cabaret clubs and folk venues on both the east and west coasts. She holds an MA from Montclair State University and has performed in New York, Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Japan and Greece. The couple was selected to participate in the Guinness Book of World Records’ “Longest Variety Show” at the Metropolitan Room in NYC and have also competed for “America’s Got Talent”.
