Old Bridge, NJ – May 22, 2018 – Classical music fans will enjoy the Old Bridge Public Library’s next Second Saturday Concert entitled, “Violin Story: From Renaissance to Modern” on Saturday, June 9th at 2:30pm.
The event is the second of four planned performances of a Collegium Musicum Concert Series. It will feature violin duets by Alexei Yavtuhovich and Dr. Eugenia Goldman, and piano works by Shea Velloso. Pieces by Uccellini, Bach, Handel, Wieniawski and Bartok will be performed.
Old Bridge resident Alexei Yavtuhovich was born in Belarus, earned a degree at Sokolovsky’s Musical College in Belarus, and was a member of the Belarus State Concert Orchestra and Belarus String Quartet. He has performed internationally throughout Europe. Eugenia Goldman (D.M.A. in Music Education, Boston University; M.A. and B.A. in Violin Performance, Moldavian State Conservatory) has been an orchestra director at Montgomery Township Schools for the past 14 years. A native of Moldova (former USSR), she performed with the Moldavian State Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. After moving to the US, she continued to perform as an orchestra and chamber musician on Long Island, NY, and later in NJ, and began teaching. Shea Velloso is a graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Brunswick. He has studied under acclaimed organists Paul Martin Maki and Gordon Turk, and has appeared in concerts on the public radio show “Pipedreams” and on Public Television.
Attendees are requested to bring a non-perishable, unexpired food donation for the Old Bridge Food Pantry to this event.
The Old Bridge Public Library has consistently been voted one of the three Best Public Libraries in Middlesex County by the readers of the Home News Tribune.
