Old Bridge, NJ – Jan. 3, 2017 – In an effort to address parental and student math anxiety, the Old Bridge Public Library will present a program entitled, “End the Math Freakout: How to Raise a Math- Confident Daughter” on Thurs. Jan. 12th at 7:30pm.
Geared towards parents of daughters in grades 4-12, the program will be presented by math mentor Rebecca Zook. The session will provide parents with innovative tools to build and nurture their child’s math confidence. Parents will learn tips on how to support their child to master the subject, raise their grades, and hopefully come to view math as a positive experience. “Math can be an enormous source of parental anxiety, even for parents who excelled in the subject themselves,” noted Library Director Nancy Cohen. “They often find themselves stuck when it comes to supporting their own child. This program will help ensure parents that math anxiety isn’t an obstacle to their child’s success.”
The Old Bridge Public Library was recently voted one of the three Best Public Libraries in Middlesex County by the readers of the Home News Tribune.
