Old Bridge, NJ — April 27, 2017 – The Old Bridge Public Library will offer technology classes in May about popular topics including Podcasting, Pixlr online photo editing and digital magazines. The interactive sessions will be presented by the Library’s Digital Resources Manager Jonathan Upton.
On Sat. May 6th, there will be a Podcasting class at 2pm. Attendees will explore the basics of sound recording, editing, and podcasting and will be taught how to use portable recorders, microphones, and the sound editing software Audacity. If participants have a sound recording that they would like to use in a podcast, they are welcome to bring it to the session and the instructor will assist in uploading it.
On Tues. May 9th, the Library will host a workshop on Online Magazines at 11am. This session will explain how to easily read, view, or download popular digital magazines online for free, without subscriptions. Attendees will learn how to access many popular titles on their computer, smartphone or tablet.
Lastly, on Tues. May 23rd at 11am, there will be a class on Pixlr online photo editing. This session will demonstrate how to use this free web-based suite of programs and smartphone and tablet apps. It will explain how the program is an alternative to other expensive photo editing programs.
In addition to these programs, which do not require registration, the Library also offers monthly basic computer classes, which do require registration. Upcoming classes include Microsoft Word (May 3rd at 7pm); Microsoft Excel (May 17th at 7pm) and Publisher (May 31st at 7pm).
The Old Bridge Public Library was recently voted one of the three Best Public Libraries in Middlesex County by the readers of the Home News Tribune.
