Old Bridge Public Library, as part of the Libraries of Middlesex County Consortium (LMxAC) is migrating from the Sirsi library management system (online catalog) to the Polaris library management system. This decision has been made to improve user access to the collection and services. During the time that the system is offline (June 2nd to approximately June 13th) you may experience the following:
- Limited ability to manage your library account online
- Inability to place or receive holds on current physical materials
- Limited new physical library materials
- Inability to pay fines
- Slow or no updates to patron records
When the new catalog goes LIVE! on June 13th, you will have improved library system and full access to current and new materials added during the transition.
Library staff are:
- Continuing to work to make the transition as seamless as possible
- Develop workarounds so that patrons may still be able to get new cards
- Ready to assist you in accessing e-books and online news, music and movies (which will not be impacted by this transition)
A number of things will not be affected at all by this transition:
- Your library card number. You won’t have to re-register to change cards after the transition. And you can keep using the LMxPRess Plus app to display your card number. It will automatically update in your phone’s store when a new version arrives.
- Access at other libraries. You will be able to check out materials in person at all member libraries.
- Digital materials and online resources. You can still use Hoopla, Libby, Kanopy, and Boundless to borrow electronic materials like ebooks, downloadable audio books, and streaming video.
We encourage you to visit the library with any questions or concerns. As always, we are here to assist you with your cultural, informational and research needs.
