Timed Events

Registration is required for several of the timed events.

11 a.m. – 12 noon
Paper Plate Marble Maze (Ages 5-10)
Use every day materials to create your very own maze, then see if you can navigate a marble through it from start to finish. 

11 a.m. – 12 noon
Build It! with Home Depot (Ages 7-12)
Build a wooden craft with the help of representatives from Home Depot.  Supplies are limited & registration is required.  Register online or call (732) 721-5600 ext. 5033.

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
3D Printing Demonstrations (All Ages)
Get a look at our 3D printer in action and find out more about our Idea Farm and the maker classes that we offer.

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Old Bridge Challenge Students (All Ages)
Old Bridge Challenge Students will be on hand to demonstrate some of the STEM projects they have created.

12 noon – 1 p.m.
Build It! with Home Depot (Ages 7-12)
Build a wooden craft with the help of representatives from Home Depot.  Supplies are limited & registration is required.  Register online or call (732) 721-5600 ext. 5033.

12 noon – 1 p.m.
Google Cardboard (Adults)
Turn your cell phone into a virtual reality machine with this inexpensive product. Experience virtual reality in a simple, fun, and affordable way.  Register online or call (732) 721-5600 ext. 5033.

1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
DIY Dog Toys (Teens & Adults)
Learn how to make a toy out of old t-shirts for your favorite pooch.

1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
LED Origami Bookmark (Grades 4-6)
Learn how to make an origami bookmark that lights up! With the help of LEDs and conductive material we can create a simple circuit that powers the LED on the origami bookmark when the book is closed.  Register online or call (732) 721-5600 ext. 5033.

1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Tech Take Apart (All Ages)
Find out what’s really going on inside your computer and other home electronics, by taking them apart! Registration is required. Register online or call (732) 721-5600 ext. 5033.

2 p.m. – 3 p.m.

All Day Events

The following activities will be available to enjoy during the entire Makers Day event, from 11 a.m. through 3 p.m. No registration is required, just drop in and create!

3D Paper Gardens (Adults)
Learn how to make a 3D pop-up paper garden.  Perfect for displaying or making as a gift for family and friends.

Builder Zone (All Ages)
Stop by the Storytime Room and build with the Library’s collection of LEGO & DUPLO bricks, Strawbees, and wooden blocks.  All you need to bring is your imagination!

Button Maker (All Ages)
Design and make your own button. We’ll provide the supplies, you provide the inspiration. Limit one button per patron.

Kids’ Craft Stations (All Ages)
Check out the various craft stations located around the library and create something cool!  

Sphero Bowling (All Ages)
Get acquainted with our Sphero robots and see if you can program them to score a strike in bowling.
